RiddleMeDat

Jake's brand new song "RiddleMeDat" is now one of the most requested songs by YouTube viewers for a Music Video. Even though Jake does not enjoy the song, we still need to make a video for publicity. Now comes the time where we choose if the video is at a club scene or its just another Jake Miller video with an urban feel.

Since its purpose was for a "club" atmosphere, it would only be right to do it at a club. So Jake's parents book the Platinum Gold area for April 1st. We will be shooting the brand new video with all of our friends and even some adults Jake's parents are friends with. Sadly, my parents will be there.

Its going to start to get harder and harder to make music videos, because my schedule is jammed packed, but soon I will probably be quitting work and Jak'es dad will be paying me for the videos. It feels good to be paid when you love doing what you are doing.

On My Way

So back on the track of Jake Miller and his music videos, I have completed his third one the day after i got home from the STN trip. This one, we did not just ride around Weston, or have all of our friends in it, we took the road less traveled and went to Fort Lauderdale beach and the airport to shoot his new video

We also incorporated his concert footage with Snoop Dogg and in the video we showed him "getting ready" for the concert and him getting on stage singing this song.

STN Awards

From our Student Television Network National Competition convention, CBTV came home with a few awards. For the first time ever, a sports broadcasting competition was involved and CBTV's very own Josh Appel entered with high hopes. He came out with second place and will forever be known as the first person to place in an individual competition at STN.

We also entered the Spot Feature devision, and we came out victorious with a 5h place finish. Rebecca Sadek and Tyler Fingert were another winner in the CBTV group.

Now it was my turn for my individual awards. Me alongside Max Gillies, Franchesca, and Arianna were holding hands waiting for our results. The person came on the microphone and said that we got fourth place. We jumped out of our seats and cheered and so did the rest of our school. We did not just win it for us, but CBTV as well.

After my individual competition, it was time to hear the results for our team competition. We, as Cypress Bay High School Television in Weston, Florida are a school that no one can compare to. We are the only school in America that has placed an astounding three times in a row in the same competition. Two years ago we won second, last year we won third and this year... we won THIRD!!! It is an amazing feeling to win and im glad i got to do it twice this year.

Week before Spring Break 3

Now that the Sweet 16 was over with, it was now time for our individual competition. I alongside Max Gillies, Ariana Lipkin, and Franchesca Baltzer , entered a very difficult competition called Documentary Short. After the day in which we were up competing for 16 hours straight, our group was bound for another long day in which we had to compete for 10 more hours straight. But, we were able to find our story just seconds into the competition. We were able to find the Student Television Network Student of the Year for 2010 and he had a very interesting story.

Noah Gray was picked for the Student Television Network Student of the Year, not because of chance. He was picked because he is really one of the best students across America for TV Broadcasting and Production. Noah Gray was chosen to be the CNN Youth Correspondent for the 2008 Election because of two documentaries he has made to show why voting is important. Noah Gray created a 15-minute documentary called "Virgin Voting" that has received National recognition. We worked on this story for 9 hours, 59 minutes and 35 seconds. And if you could tell, we passed in our video with only 25 seconds to spare. If it was any later than 25 seconds, we would be disqualified.

Now that all of our videos are done, we just have to wait for the results.

Week Before Spring Break 2

Today is competition day for the Sweet 16, and we woke up at 5:30 in the morning to be out the door by 6:45. We needed to get all the equipment ready to use and it was my job to monitor everyone in their editing, shooting, and brainstorming as well as produce my own segment for the show. We were all assigned at least one partner for each segment. My partner was a very skilled cameraman, Phil Goldstein and we were able to find a man who came from North Dakota to attend a technology convention across the street at another popular Orlando hotel.

The convention was called the NRECA, National Rural Electric Corporation Association, and it brought people from all over the United States in order to work together to make a better technology world, and live in the new age of technology and help with the environment. We were actually pushed aside from entering the convention floor, because people pay over $1000 to enter there, and it seemed unfair to let two teenage boys in to film footage. But Noah worked his magic and was able to get two free passes to the convention floor and it took us 5 hours to produce this 2:30 minute feature. At the end of the day Cypress Bay Television was proud of the work and what we had created. We passed in a show length of 16 minutes and we were hopeful of getting first place.

Week Before Spring Break 1

This week I will not be working directly on the Music Videos for Jake Miller because of a very specific and important reason. If you have not noticed, I am vey involved with CBTV within school and this week (March 7-12) I will be in Orlando, Florida for a national convention. The Student Television Network is a large organization with over 900 schools across the United States that come together and stay connected throughout the year so teachers can  keep in touch and work together to create a better system for their students.
Last year we went to Anaheim, California in mid March for this same conference and we were unsuccessful in the individual aspect of the competition. Luckily, as a school, Cypress Bay took 3rd place in the nation in a competition called the Sweet-16. Hopefully, this year we will be even more successful in the team competition and hopefully we can also snag some individual awards as well.

STUDENT TELEVISION NETWORK IS HERE!
From March 7-12, I alongside CBTV will be attending the National Television Production Competition in Orlando, Florida looking to take home gold in all of our events. The first event when we get there is the most important, the "Sweet 16". This event is a 16-hour competition where the judges give us one word and we need to produce a 16-minute show based on that one word. The next day is our individual competition where I am competing in a 10-hour competition called short documentary.

Hopefully CBTV will take home gold and huge trophies to put in our resume.

SNOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPP

So the other day before the photo shoot for "RiddleMeDat" and "On My Way", Jake and I were talking and he brought up the possibility that he may have his first concert appearance next week. And it is not your average show. This show is going to be with none other than the hip hop legend superstar, Snoop Dogg.

Jake Miller will be opening up for Snoop Dogg on Friday March 11, 2011 at Club Cinema in Pompano, Florida. Jake has been preparing all week because it is going to be his first time appearing on stage in front of a legit crowd. Jake has also been in contact for the promoter of Chris Webby, an underground rap artist who is from the Northeast. Jake may be able to go to the show and open for Webby on Friday March 19, 2011 at Club Cinema and also the next day in Orlando, Florida at a club called Scoops.

But, one of the biggest concerts to hit South Florida, featuring Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa Jake Miller may have the opportunity to open up for them. This is a big milestone for Jake because he has looked up to these two rappers since they started two years ago. He and I may have the possibility to traveling with them over the summer in their 20 city tour. That would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for both of us and we really hope it could get worked out.

Next week I will be in Orlando for a Tv Production Competition and hopefully we can come back with some National titles.

PHOTOSHOOT

Yesterday was a very hectic day for me. I left my house at 7:10AM and went to school. During forth hour I worked on stuff in TV Production, and also went to the gym. After school, I had a CBTV General Meeting and an Officer Meeting which lasted until 4:55PM. From there, I left school to meet Jake at his house for his next photo shoot for his song "RiddleMeDat" and "On My Way". I did not leave his house until roughly 9:15PM, and it was the first time i stepped in my door all day.
At the photo shoot, I filmed the entire thing so we could use it and put it on youtube for his viewers and fans to see. We also got very big news, but will not tell you until tomorrow because it has the ability to become a 3 paragraph blog. We are very excited for the upcoming two weeks, and sooner than later, the name "Jake Miller" will be known worldwide.
