Today is competition day for the Sweet 16, and we woke up at 5:30 in the morning to be out the door by 6:45. We needed to get all the equipment ready to use and it was my job to monitor everyone in their editing, shooting, and brainstorming as well as produce my own segment for the show. We were all assigned at least one partner for each segment. My partner was a very skilled cameraman, Phil Goldstein and we were able to find a man who came from North Dakota to attend a technology convention across the street at another popular Orlando hotel.
The convention was called the NRECA, National Rural Electric Corporation Association, and it brought people from all over the United States in order to work together to make a better technology world, and live in the new age of technology and help with the environment. We were actually pushed aside from entering the convention floor, because people pay over $1000 to enter there, and it seemed unfair to let two teenage boys in to film footage. But Noah worked his magic and was able to get two free passes to the convention floor and it took us 5 hours to produce this 2:30 minute feature. At the end of the day Cypress Bay Television was proud of the work and what we had created. We passed in a show length of 16 minutes and we were hopeful of getting first place.
